180 year old cottage set on the outskirts of Newcastle upon Tyne with a feeling of being in the countryside but only 10 minutes drive from the city centre. Stone Cottage is only 1/4 mile from Newcastle International Airport so perfectly placed for anyone using this mode of transport. To the west and only 1 mile away is the village of Ponteland, one of the most affluent and picturesque places in the north east. In the village you will find ancient churches pubs and inns along with excellent restaurants and the beautiful River Pont running through the middle and under the stone twin arched bridge. Hadrians wall is within easy access and every year we have people staying with us who choose to walk the length of the wall. Stone Cottage has been our home since 1992 and in 1997 we started offering Bed and Breakfast, thus being our 22nd year in business (2019). We have five rooms ranging from singles through to multiple occupancy. All are ensuite except the single which has its own private bathroom. The garden is large and very well kept. There is a wide variety of flowers plants and shrubs and in the spring and summer it is very colourful. There is ample secure parking in our driveway and the turning point makes it easy to manoeuvre when entering or exiting even when fully booked. Stone Cottage dates back to the 1820&ampampampamp#39s and since we ed our doors in 1997 we have had thousands of people from all over the world staying with us, some of which have become very close friends. The building is 400 metres from Newcastle Airport (not on the flight path) and being the closest B and B to the Airport is perfectly located for anyone flying in or out. We are also ideally positioned for anyone visiting the City Centre, Gateshead Metro centre, Hadrians Wall or exploring the Northumbrian Countryside and Coastline. Throughout the year we have numerous parties of guests attending weddings at venues like Dissington Hall, Matfen Hall and Horton Grange. We are only 200 metres from The Badger pub, where most of our guests choose to have their evening meal. With the fine selection of ales on offer it truly is a charming place to unwind and relax.
