Folkestone is a coastal resort town in Shepway district of Kent, Southern England. Seacat and ferry services via the harbour connect the town to both Boulogne and Calais in France, together with the still present Channel Tunnel. Folkestone was a Norman stronghold on, or near the site of a Saxon fort and became known from its connection with the priory of St. Eanswythe.
Based near the North Downs, offering views of the surrounding countryside and the French coast. Many walkers enjoy fabulous scenic route and the Folkestone Horse is set into the hill side of the Downs.
